JANUARY 2013 BAND OF THE MONTH - BLACK SIXTEEN

Posted by londonrocks666 on January 20, 2013 at 5:45 AM

Meet our band of the month… Black Sixteen!

London based 'heart-on-sleeve' heavy rock band Black Sixteen are the embodiment of the oxymoron of 'delicately heavy' rock. With their grunge ridden riffs and distorted vocals contrasts a feminine, winding keyboard melody to create the angst ridden sounds of 'destroying something beautiful'. If you like it heavy with a fragile core, the diverse and refreshing sound of Black Sixteen will prove ever increasingly heavier, with impressionable lyrics and a soothing resonance which will get you replaying their EP.

With influences such as Nine Inch Nails, Pixies, Tori Amos, At The Drive-In, The Cure, Alice In Chains, Ministry, Nirvana, Tool, Massive Attack, Faith No More, The Afghan Whigs, The White Stripes and Jimi Hendrix they are one to watch in London.

Look out for Black Sixteen in the Year of Thirteen, it's gonna be a big one...
